Shells in displays

Messaggio da stutata 28 »

In a daylight display we see the beautiful shells called "bombe a scala" . The shell "scala a otto" has one break with 8 different timed salute shells with eventually a bottom shot . The "scala a seidice" has 2 breaks with in each break 8 different timed salute shells and a bottom shot . The "scala a ventecinque" has 3 breaks with in each break 8 different timed salute shells and a bottom shot . The "scala a trentetres" has 4 breaks with in each break 8 different timed salute shells and a bottom shot . The "scala a quaranteuno" has 5 breaks with in each break 8 salute shells and a bottom shot .

In an evening display we see the "scala a otto" with 8 different timed coloured shells ( the "sfere" filled with 3 layers of cilindrical stars , the so called "cannoli" ) , eventually with a so called "controbomba" at the end .
Or a "controbomba" at the beginning , see the display of Carmelo Di Candia in Rotello 2010 .
My question is : Why are the larger scala shells with more breaks not used in an evening display ? I think , it would be fantastic to see a "scala a trentetres"
with coloured shells .

The problem is that on a multiple night shell the second part of the bomb will open uphill and second serie of 8 openings should be very far to see.

On day shells scala 16 or scala 24 there are no problems since there is only the shots.
