An example of the "fermata" shell number 298: "la stutata regina".

These photos were taken in the Province of Salerno on Friday January 17th, 2020 preparing for a competition in the town of Vibonati and in the Province of Naples on Saturday the 2nd of April in the town of Somma Vesuviana. These evening displays were fired by the company of Giovanni Boccia and Luigi Nappi from Palma Campania in the Province of Napoli, Regione Campania.
This shell with the superscription "2*" written on the outside indicate "stutata regina". The complete effect is one break with 21 bombettes, 7 titanium salute bombettes in the first mosaic and in the second mosaic with a long delay of the 14 color bombettes in the color blue and in the second fermata shell in the color red.
After each "stutata regina" we see a sferical shell of 21 cm caliber with color change.
There are 2 of this type of 21 cm caliber, 1-break shells in this evening display.

Immagine
In front two "fermata" shells with the superscription "2X", these are the "stutata regina". Behind these two shells we see two shells with the superscription "3X", so this effect is "3 intrecci".

The timing and colors in this display are the perfection for me.

An example of "fermata" shell number 130: "(4 botti + 3 riprese) + controcolpo".
It is a variation on the fermata shell number 510 "(ripresa + 2 botti + ripresa + 2 botti + ripresa) + controcolpo".

These photos were taken in the Province of Bari on November 9th, 2019 preparing for the daylight Festival San Trifone on November 10th in the town of Adelfia.
This daylight display was fired by the company of Palmieri Fireworks (Antonio Palmieri and Mino De Candia) from Apricena in the Province of Foggia.

This shell with the superscription "4L * * * ." written on the outside indicate "(4 botti + 3 riprese) + controcolpo".
The complete effect is 4 successive salute bombettes followed by three successive mosaic of salute bombettes and closed by a bottom-shot.
There are 3 of this type spherical shell of 25 cm caliber, 1-break shells in this daylight display.

When you translate this daylight effect to an evening fermata effect it will be "(4 botti + 3 intrecci) + controbomba".

An example of the "fermata" shell number 81: "(controbomba) + (controbomba)".

These photos were taken in the Province of Naples on Saturday the 2nd of April, 2016 preparing for a competition in the town of Somma Vesuviana. This evening display was fired by the company of Giovanni Boccia and Luigi Nappi from Palma Campania in the Province of Napoli, Regione Campania.
This shell with the superscription "___ ___" written on the outside indicate "(controbomba) + (controbomba)". The complete effect is two successive breaks with a large bouquet with a heart of spherical stars and rings of cylindrical stars.
Before each "(controbomba) + (controbomba)" we see a fermata in the effect "(3 intrecci) + (3 intrecci)" so also in the rythm of two breaks.

There are 2 of this type of 21 cm caliber, 2-break shells in this evening display.

An example of the "fermata" shell number 518: "(2 intrecci) + (controbomba + intreccio botti) + (controbomba + intreccio botti) + controcolpo".

These photos were taken in the Province of Salerno on Friday January 17th, 2020 preparing for a competition in the town of Vibonati. This shell with the superscription "* * ___ * ___ * ___ ." written on the outside indicate "(2 intrecci) + (controbomba + intreccio botti) + (controbomba + intreccio botti) + controcolpo". Actually, here is written one more "___" controbomba!
The complete effect is in the first break 2 successive mosaic, the first mosaic is a splendid mosaic of 7 color bombettes in "pampanella" (= white) followed by a second mosaic of 7 color bombettes in purple.
In the second and third break a large bouquet with a heart of spherical stars and rings of cylindrical stars followed by a mosaic of 7 titanium salute bombettes.
Closed by a bottom-shot.
This shell is fired in this show as a "bomba da tiro". The bottom-shot is just a little bit too early, it shows how difficult it is to make a perfect effect!!

There are 2 of this type of 21 cm caliber, 3-break shells in this evening display.

Immagine
Nello (Aniello) Nappi with this shell with the superscription "* * ___ * ___ * ___ .". "* *" = due intrecci = two successive mosaic.

An example of the "fermata" shell number 92: "(4 botti + 2 intrecci) + (controbomba)".

These photos were taken in the Province of Salerno on August 17th, 2016 preparing for the competition in the town of Siano by the company of Raffaele Bruscella and Raffaele Pellicani from Modugno in the Province of Bari.
This shell with the superscription "4B2*___" written on the outside indicate "(4 botti + 2 intrecci) + (controbomba)". The complete effect is in the first break 4 successive titanium salute bombettes followed by two successive mosaic with in each mosaic 4 color bombettes. In the first mosaic in "pampanella" (= white) and in the second mosaic in red. In the second break a large bouquet with a heart of white spherical stars and rings of red cylindrical stars.

There are 3 of this type of 16 cm caliber, 2-break shells in this evening display.

A "classic" in the Italian serie of fermate of 16 cm caliber!!

When you translate this eveningfermata to a daylightshell it becomes: "(4 botti + 2 riprese) + (controcolpo)".

I don't know if there has been fired once a fermata in the double effect so: "(4 botti + 2 intrecci) + (4 botti + 2 intrecci) + (controbomba) + (controbomba)". So 4 breaks.
Did anyone see this effect? Or a "(4 botti + 2 intrecci) + (controbomba) + (4 botti + 2 intrecci) + (controbomba)".

Immagine
One of the three "fermata" shells of 16 cm caliber with the superscription "4B2*___". "4B" = 4 botti = 4 successive titanium salute bombettes.
"2*" = 2 intrecci = two successive mosaic with in each mosaic 4 color bombettes. "___" = controbomba = a large bouquet.

An example of the "fermata" shell number 473: "(ripresa + 4 botti + ripresa) + controcolpo".

These photos were taken in the Province of Bari on November 9th, 2017 preparing for the daylight Festival San Trifone on November 10th in the town of Adelfia.
This daylight display was fired by the company "Cavour" of Raffaele Boccia from Palma Campania in the Province of Napoli, Regione Campania.

This shell with the superscription "* 4. *" written on the outside indicate "(ripresa + 4 botti + ripresa) + controcolpo".
A variation of the classic effect "(4 botti + 2 riprese) + controcolpo".
The complete effect is a mosaic of salute bombettes followed by 4 successive salute bombettes and a mosaic of salute bombettes and closed by a bottom-shot.
There are 5 of this type of 16 cm caliber, 1-break shells in this daylight display.

Immagine
Aniello Boccia, the brother from Raffaele with three "fermata" shells with the superscription "* 4. *", "(ripresa + 4 botti + ripresa) + controcolpo".
"*" = Ripresa = a mosaic of salute bombettes. "4." = 4 Botti = 4 successive salute bombettes. The "controcolpo" is not written on the superscription.

At the end two mortars for the fermate in the "stutata" effect and in between two mortars for a salute effect.

When you translate this daylight shell to an evening shell it will be: "(intreccio + 4 botti + intreccio) + controbomba".

I use the video from the brothers Romano in Adelfia on the 10th of November 2010 because the effect is better in this display. Four shells in this display in this effect.

An example of the "fermata" shell number 55: "la stutata farfalle".

These photos were taken in the Province of Salerno on August 17th, 2015 preparing for the competition with 5 companies in the town of Siano by the company of Gerardo Scudo from Ercolano in the Province of Napoli. Scudo is the winner of this edition.
This shell with the superscription "2 SF" written on the outside indicate "la stutata farfalle". The complete effect is that after the break the amount of bombettes disappears in the sky and suddenly after 5 seconds the bombettes all open at onces.
In the heart of each bombette round stars in the colour blue and 5 silver butterflies around. In the second "stutata farfalle" in the heart of each bombette round stars in the colour green and 5 silver butterflies around. In the third "stutata farfalle" in the heart of each bombette round stars in the colour violet and 5 silver butterflies around.
Every "stutata" is followed by a spherical shell of 21 cm caliber.

There are 3 of this type of 21 cm caliber, 1-break shells in this evening display.

Immagine
An employee of Gerardo Scudo loading a "fermata" shell of 21 cm caliber in this effect in the grey coloured mortar number. The superscription "2 SF" means:
"S" = "Stutata" = a shell of which the bombettes disappear in the sky after the break of the shell and suddenly after 5 seconds the bombettes all open at onces.
"F" = "Farfalla" = butterfly, a very beautiful effect in the white colour.

An example of "fermata" shell number 262: stutata "tre per tre" spherical shells.

These photos were taken in the Province of Lecce on April 24th, 2010 preparing for the competition in the town of Castro by the company of Amodio Di Matteo and brothers from Sant Antimo in the province Napoli.
"Tre per tre" or "3 x 3" means that 3 successive spherical "stutata" shells are fired and open after eachother. The main difference with a cilindrical "stutata" shell is that the spherical shell opens at the highest level at the lowest speed, the cilindrical shell at the lowest level with the highest speed.
The three "stutata" shells are fast fired after eachother and have to open one by one, also the bombettes of each shell have to open simultaneously after eachother. The "pupatelle" stars in the bombettes are in the color green and purple. A very nice color combination!

These shells are of 30 cm caliber.

Immagine

In the video you will notice that the timing wasn't perfect because the third stutata opened too late, the bombettes of the first stutata already opened.
